How can something so complex and tasty be concocted with the such simple ingredients? When constructed well the submarine sandwich is something to behold. Bread, meat, cheese, oil and vinegar, fresh and pickled vegetables–it’s the only time you can hold all your major food groups in one hand. Not all sandwich makers are the same, but a masterpiece is a masterpiece, whether it was painted by Raphael or Grandma Moses, am I right?
